There is an incredibly beautiful and wide variety of Butterflies and Moths in our semi-wild area despite the tremendous amounts of pesticides and herbicides regularly sprayed by the commercial white farmers, and these are carried by the winds to the remaining wilderness and cause their damage. How long will these exceedingly delicate and exquisitely complex and beautiful species survive is any one's guess. Let’s keep in mind that a butterfly is a caterpillar which half of its life eats leaves as food- farmers’ worst enemy. The numbers have decreased throughout the years however we are still so fortunate to see &enjoy them on our yard. We have planted specific flowers that give them the nutrients and sugars they love and need to survive.
